National Grid plc, OnStream's parent company, is an international energy delivery business and is the UK's largest investor-owned utility, and one of the largest world-wide.

In Britain, National Grid owns and operates the high pressure gas transmission system and the high-voltage electricity system in England and Wales. Our local distribution networks, which cover a significant area of mainland Britain, deliver gas directly to homes, offices and factories.

In the US, National Grid owns, operates and develops electricity transmission and distribution assets with a total length of approximately 84,000 miles, serving approximately 3.3 million electricity customers in New England and New York State. It also owns a gas distribution network serving over 500,000 customers in New York State. Both of these businesses involve the provision of meters and metering services.
